I remember someone asking me a question about MSM ( sulphur) a while back and its about damn time I responded!
I recently added this super awesome supplement (natural mineral) back into my diet. Why you ask? Only because I want to feel great and look amazing! David Wolfe (you know that guy who is kind of a leader with the raw food movement?) was quoted saying ”Producing a flame like tint in the skin and creating a subtle lustre as delicate as the halo around the full moon on a clear desert evening.” Well, I want my face to glow like a delicate halo around the full moon dammit!
There are so many benefits to MSM that I am going to break them down. Starting with why I personally take it!
- Reduces Inflammation Due to Injury or Inflammatory Diseases:
Pain stems from nerves INSIDE inflamed soft tissue——-> MSM reduces inflammation in soft tissues by balancing the water pressure s on the outside of the cells AND the inside of the cells creating an equal balance. MSM enhances the permeability of the cell walls (therefore allowing pressure on BOTH sides to be equal) which in turn relieves pain caused by inflammation. It helps get the flexibility back in joints! Hopefully that simplifies it enough!
Please, if you have problems with arthritis or other joint inflammation diseases, do yourself a favor and try this supplement. I was prescribed a duo of anti inflammatory AND serious pain meds and am happy to report I take neither! This is not to say my pain isn’t present, however, it is a pain I can live with and is manageable with diet and this supplement. The only problem is sometimes my pain will completely go away and I forget to take it! Not to shabby of a problem right!
I will more than likely never be a distance runner again and a lot of exercises may be out of the question for now on but I consider myself lucky. It is so crucial that I keep my diet in check because even a couple days of poor eating and I am back to square one! Square one is painful so I don’t want to be there!

This is part of my post workout routine. Firstly, I like to take my MSM when my joints are at their most vulnerable and thats after my intense workouts. This allows for maximum absorption! Also, combined with my Raw Protein shakes, it helps with my recovery time between weigh days!

MSM has incredible beautifying properties and works as an amazing anti aging agent due to its regenerative properties! Genetics plays a part but we can manipulate it to a certain degree!
Where Does MSM Come From and Is It Safe?
MSM is a naturally occurring nutrient found in ALL living things! Its toxicity level is the same as water and it perfectly safe to consume! It is found in the oceans and rain water where it comes down on to our crops. However, our farming practices suck so bad that this sulphur is non existent in our foods! It is crucial to get in the proper amount and I believe this is a supplement everyone should be taking!
